Stevenage Football Club was founded in 1976 and has had a very successful few years. Stevenage FC were promoted to League One at the end of the 2010-11 season after just a single year in League Two.
A notable achievement was holding Newcastle United to a draw in the fourth round of the 1996-97 season, they were beaten in the replay in Newcastle.
